ISBT 128 sets a global standard for the identification, labeling and information processing of human blood, tissue and organ products across international borders and disparate health care systems. The standard has been designed and perfected over a 13 year period to ensure the highest levels of accuracy, safety and efficiency for the benefit of donors, patients and official ISBT 128 licensed facilities worldwide.

Version 3.17.0 of the ISBT 128 product code database is now available to licensed facilities. Updates are listed in the version control sheet. The new database can be downloaded as an Access database or as text file tables.

US Cellular Therapy Document - The United States Industry Consensus Standard for the Uniform Labeling of Cellular Therapy Products using ISBT 128, Version 1, DRAFT G is the result of the collaborative efforts of AABB, ASBMT, ASFA, FACT, ICCBBA, ISCT, and NMDP.  It is available for public comment until August 1, 2008.  All comments will be taken into consideration prior to the final publication of the document.  Please e-mail your comments to ICCBBA.

Technical Specification v3.3.0 - A new version of the ISBT 128 Technical Specification has been released and supersedes the previous 3.2.0 version.  Changes made to the new version can be tracked in its version control sheet.

Document name change - The document formerly titled Bounded Lists and Definitions was recently changed to Standard Terminology for Blood, Cellular Therapy, and Tissue Product Descriptions.  Aside from the usual monthly updates, the contents and structure of the document remains consistent.  Please view its version control sheet to track the monthly updates.
